| dc.description.abstract | Avobenzone is the most widely used chemical UVA filter in many sunscreen formulations to combat the harmful effects of UVA radiation [1–4]. An important drawback of avobenzone is the photounstability under sunlight/ UV radiations [5,6]. Two independent approaches have been employed to overcome these drawbacks: (i) addition of an external photostabilizers [7,8], (ii) and skeleton structure modification [9,10]. The current thesis has explored both the approaches and also peptides as a photostabilizers of avobenzone. The thesis has been organized into eight chapters: Chapter-1 provides the introduction in the context of the thesis. Chapter-2 to Chapter-7 provides specific attempts to improve the photostability of avobenzone, and Chapter-8 provides the summary and conclusion of the thesis work. | |
